Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is a condition that refers to excessive sweating in the armpits, hands or feet. Botox ® treatment target overactive sweat glands. Experience relief from unwanted symptoms for up to six months.

Treatment for Excessive sweating

During the procedure, several injections are delivered to the skin where excessive sweating occurs, often the underarms, palms or scalp. Depending on the body area, the injection procedure itself takes five to 20 minutes. Most patients notice a reduction in symptoms within one week and maximum results within two weeks. Most patients have symptoms reduced for about six months. After that time, the procedure must be repeated.

Periodic Treatments

Periodic BOTOX® injections can stop excess sweating by temporarily blocking the neural pathways that communicate with the sweat glands. This treatment can effectively prevent sweat production at the target area and can be administered to areas such as the underarms, forehead, hands, or feet. The treatment of hyperhidrosis in the underarms with BOTOX® is approved by the FDA. Many patients who opt for hyperhidrosis treatment with BOTOX® have tried prescription-strength antiperspirants without success.

Treatment Breakdown

Prior to injection, a numbing agent can be applied to the treatment area to maximize your comfort. The total number of injections will vary depending upon the size of the treatment area and the severity of your condition. The treatment can usually be completed in 30 minutes, and most patients return to their normal daily activities immediately afterward.
